Holler — Privacy Policy
Effective September 16, 2026 · Last updated September 15, 2026
A little help staying close, with you in charge of every message. Here’s how Holler uses your information and the choices you have.
On this page
Your connections. Your say.
You choose which friend details to add, review your drafts, and decide what to send. Holler never sends messages to friends automatically or reads your SMS, WhatsApp or Telegram inbox.
Holler saves your account, friend details, notes, selected messages, writing preferences and settings so they’re available across devices. This policy covers Holler, published by Moose Welcome, alongside our full Privacy Policy.
Permissions, when you need them
- Contacts are optional. Pick a number to save with a friend, or enter it yourself. Holler does not upload your whole address book in the background.
- Reminders follow your settings. They’re scheduled on your device; preferences and usage events are saved to your account. You can adjust lock-screen previews, which may include a friend’s name and draft, in device settings.
- Photo access is optional. In versions with photo uploads, camera or library access is requested when you add a photo. Only selected photos are uploaded to Supabase. Uploaded photos use public links and can be viewed by anyone with the link, including photos saved in earlier versions. They aren’t sent in text AI prompts.
These features don’t request microphone or location access. On iOS, checks for available messaging apps stay on your device. Changing a permission doesn’t remove saved data; you can request its removal.
A little context for better suggestions
Google Gemini processes context saved in Holler to suggest messages and respond in catch-up conversations. This can include friend and relationship details, notes and topics, writing samples and preferences, recent messages you marked as sent, and conversation inputs. You review and share the resulting drafts yourself.
In versions with generated images, voice or video, Google or fal.ai processes the prompts for those features. Our provider details explain more.
Keeping Holler useful and reliable
We use account-linked activity, such as draft choices, reminders and purchase interactions, to operate and improve Holler. Some events also reference a friend’s record; reports may combine events into totals. Sentry processes technical app and device diagnostics to help us fix crashes and performance problems.
The services behind Holler
Supabase hosts account data, Google Gemini provides AI assistance, RevenueCat manages subscriptions, and Sentry handles diagnostics. Apple and Google Play handle store billing. Website email signups are stored separately by Netlify. See the full provider list and data details.
Your data, with a way out
In Settings, choose Export My Data for a copy of your profile, friends, topics, selected messages, writing preferences, reminders and subscription status. Exports have size limits and allow two per day. Contact us for a broader copy or help accessing it.
You can also choose Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps and wait for the completion message; contact us if it fails. Our deletion guide covers retained records, partial removal and separate email-list requests.
