Privacy Policy

Your information helps us provide the features you use. Here we explain what we collect, the services we work with, and how to access or remove your data.

Start with what matters to you
Using Holler? Read your privacy in Holler for a short guide to AI suggestions, permissions and data controls. For removal requests, visit our deletion guide. The full policy below covers our apps and website, including providers, retention and your rights.
1. Who we are
The Services are published by Moose Welcome. Moose Welcome ("Moose Welcome", "we", "us" or "our") is the data controller for our applications and website (the "Services").
- Privacy contact: support@moosewelcome.com
2. Information we collect
We collect only what an app needs in order to work, to be paid for, and to be fixed when it breaks. The categories below describe the maximum scope across our portfolio; an individual app may collect less, and each app carries its own privacy disclosure on its store listing. For Holler specifically, see the Holler Privacy Policy.
| Category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Device and installation identifiers | Vendor-scoped device ID (Apple IDFV), Android app-set ID, pseudonymous installation ID, device model, OS version, app version, language and region | To deliver the app, keep sessions consistent, honour entitlements and diagnose platform-specific faults |
| Account information | Email address, display name and authentication identifiers where an app offers an account | To create and secure your account and restore your data across devices |
| Usage analytics | Feature interactions, draft choices, reminder and purchase events, timestamps, your account ID and, for some events, a friend's record ID; reports may aggregate these records | To understand which features earn their place and to prioritise improvements |
| Crash and performance diagnostics | Stack traces, error messages, and memory and performance counters at the time of a fault | To find and fix defects and keep the app stable across devices |
| Purchase and subscription data | App Store and Google Play purchase tokens, receipts, transaction identifiers, entitlement and renewal status | To unlock paid features, validate receipts, prevent fraud and honour refunds |
| Friend details and personalization | Friend names, selected contact numbers, relationship details, topics, notes, writing samples and preferences, and messages you mark as sent through Holler | To organize your connections and provide personalized message suggestions, including processing prompt context with Google Gemini |
| Profile photos (where available) | Photos added in app versions with uploads, including photos saved in earlier versions | To display profile pictures; uploaded images are stored in Supabase and served through public image links |
| Content you provide | Text, prompts, media and settings you create or upload inside an app | To provide the feature you asked for and to store your work |
| Early-access signups (website) | Your email address, signup consent text, page path, campaign parameters in the link you arrived by, and request metadata such as IP address processed by our hosting provider for spam prevention | To email you early-access details and launch updates, and to stop automated abuse of the signup form |
| Support correspondence | Your email address and the contents of messages you send us | To answer your question and keep a record of the request |
We do not collect precise geolocation, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data unless a feature you actively invoke requires it, and then only after the operating system has asked for your permission. You can withdraw any such permission at any time in your device settings.
3. How we use personal information
- To provide, maintain and secure the Services and the features you request.
- To process purchases, validate receipts, manage subscriptions and handle refunds.
- To diagnose crashes, debug defects and improve reliability and performance.
- To understand aggregate product usage and decide what to build next.
- To respond to support requests and send service messages about material changes.
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms.
- To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not use your personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
If you join an early-access list on this website, we use your address for that product's launch and early-access updates only. Signup submissions are stored in Netlify Forms and can be exported by our team to manage the list. You can withdraw consent and ask us to remove you at any time by emailing support@moosewelcome.com. We include a way to unsubscribe in every launch or early-access email.
4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to deliver the app, your account and any subscription you buy.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for crash diagnostics, security, fraud prevention and aggregate product analytics, balanced against your rights and expectations.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for any optional permission-gated feature and for any processing that requires it. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — to retain transaction and tax records.
5. Third-party service providers
We use the providers below to operate the Services, including processing message context with AI providers. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Netlify, Inc. | Website hosting, early-access form storage and spam prevention. | Submitted email address, consent text, page path and campaign fields, plus request metadata such as IP address used to process and protect submissions. |
| Apple Inc. (App Store, StoreKit) | App distribution, in-app purchase and subscription processing, receipt validation. | Purchase tokens and receipts, subscription status, App Store account region. Apple does not share your payment card details with us. |
| Google LLC (Google Play, Play Billing, Play Services) | App distribution, in-app purchase and subscription processing, core device services. | Purchase tokens and receipts, subscription status and Play account region. |
| Google LLC (Gemini) | AI message drafting, refinement and catch-up conversations. | Friend and relationship details, topics and notes, writing samples and preferences, recent messages marked as sent in Holler, and conversation inputs used to build prompts. |
| Google LLC and Features and Labels, Inc. (fal.ai) | Media generation in app versions offering those features. | Prompts submitted for image, voice or video generation and the resulting media. |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | Subscription management and cross-platform receipt validation on our behalf. | Pseudonymous app user ID, purchase receipts and tokens, subscription entitlement state, country and platform. |
| Supabase, Inc. | Application backend, authentication and database hosting. | Account and authentication information, friend profiles, topics, selected messages, writing preferences, uploaded photos, reminder settings and account-linked usage records. |
| Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) | Crash reporting and error diagnostics. | Crash stack traces, device model, OS version, app version and a pseudonymous installation identifier. |
Payments for in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your payment card number.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect the rights or safety of any person, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets — in which case we will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Apple App Tracking Transparency
Our apps do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. We do not link data collected in our apps with third-party data for advertising or measurement purposes, and we do not share it with data brokers.
If a future feature ever required tracking as Apple defines it, we would present the App Tracking Transparency prompt and proceed only with your explicit permission. Declining would never reduce functionality you have paid for.
7. Your privacy rights
All users
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Our apps include self-service Export My Data and Delete Accountcontrols in the settings screen. Holler's export covers profile, friends and topics, selected messages, writing style, reminders and subscription status. It has size limits and is limited to two exports per day. For a broader data-access request or an export that fails, email support@moosewelcome.com. Account deletion may require you to sign in again; wait for confirmation that it succeeded. Our Account & Data Deletion page describes the fastest route.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
- Access a copy of your personal information;
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Erase your information (the "right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;

California (CCPA / CPRA)
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to whom;
- Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — we do not use it to infer characteristics;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any right, email support@moosewelcome.com. We handle requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity — usually by confirming control of the email address or app account in question — before we act. You may use an authorised agent where the law permits.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for:
- Account and content data — while needed to provide your account and its features. Temporary drafts and topics can expire earlier. Account deletion is described on our deletion page.
- Usage and diagnostic records — kept to investigate faults, operate features and understand product use, then removed or aggregated through retention processes. Account-linked records are distinct from de-identified aggregate reports.
- Aggregate, de-identified analytics — may remain after individual records are deleted, where the aggregate no longer identifies you.
- Transaction and tax records — retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting obligations. Deletion requests remain subject to those obligations.
- Early-access signups — until the product launches or you ask to be removed, whichever comes first.
- Support correspondence — for as long as needed to support you and to keep a record of the request, and deleted on request where no legal obligation requires us to keep it.
9. Where information is processed
We are established in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. This means your information may be processed outside the country where you live. For questions about processing locations and applicable transfer safeguards, email support@moosewelcome.com.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information. If you have a security concern, contact support@moosewelcome.com. We notify affected people and relevant authorities of data breaches when required by law.
11. Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@moosewelcome.com and we will delete it promptly.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our Services or the law. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
